Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an anxiety-related condition that involves recurring obsessions and compulsions. Obsessions are often unpleasant and intrusive thoughts that cause significant distress, while compulsions are behaviors performed to relieve this distress. Approximately 2–3% of the population suffers from OCD, which can have a serious impact on daily life and quality of life.
OCD can take many forms. A common example is cleaning force, where the individual feels an excessive fear of dirt or contamination and performs rituals to eliminate these feelings. Control obligation involves the fear of causing harm, such as through fire, accidents, or bodily harm, leading to extensive checks to prevent something from happening. Other forms of OCD may include arrangement constraint, repetition compulsion and mental rituals, where individuals feel a need to arrange things in a specific way or repeat actions to gain control over their thoughts and feelings
